The UK Government has recently updated the no-deal Brexit guidance for pensions.
The guidance relates to benefits and pension for UK nationals in the EU, EEA or Switzerland and for EU, EEA or Swiss citizens in the UK.
The guidance now sets out the position for those living in the UK:
- EU, EEA or Swiss citizens in the UK before Brexit (31 October 2019) must apply to the EU Settlement Scheme by 30 June 2021 or 31 December 2020.
- EU, EEA or Swiss citizens in the UK after Brexit will initially be granted entry for 3 months. This can be extended through an application for European temporary leave to remain to stay for a further 36 months or an application to remain under the UK’s new skills based immigration system that begins on 1 January 2021.
