PDFs and other documents

Some documents contained within this website are in Adobe Acrobat PDF (Portable Document Format). To view these documents, you will need to download Acrobat Reader.

We recognise that some of our older PDFs do not meet accessibility standards. We will try to ensure that any new PDFs we publish will meet accessibility standards as far as possible.

Disproportionate burden

We have identified some large PDF documents published after September 2018 which are not fully accessible, however given the size of these documents and the time it would take to fix these documents to make them accessible, we believe that making all of these documents accessible would be a disproportionate burden within the meaning of the accessibility regulations.

Content that’s not within the scope of the accessibility regulations

Non-HTML documents published before 23 September 2018 do not need to be accessible - unless users need them to use a service.

What we’re doing to improve accessibility

We’re committed to making sure this website is compliant to WCAG 2.1 ‘AA’ standard.

Our accessibility compliance statement will be reviewed every six months. We will also perform an internal audit of the website annually. Every newly released website will be designed, built and tested to meet ‘AA’ standards by default.

Preparation of this accessibility statement

This statement was prepared on 29th January 2021. It was last reviewed on 30th  March 2021.
