Policies

We are required by law to have many different types of policies.

We have a funding strategy  for both our Active and Closed funds.  These set out the assumptions used by our Actuary in determining the right funding level and informs the investment strategy statement for each fund. 

In our Governance Compliance Statement, which forms part of our Governance Policy, we set out how we make decisions and meet regulatory requirements in this area. We have a separate policy on risk management.

Our Conflicts of Interest Policy outlines how we manage potential and actual conflicts of interest. This includes a specific section on how investments are managed to avoid any potential conflicts of interest with the role of our employer bodies.

Our policy on Getting to Net Zero and Building Resilience sets out how we are addressing the impacts of climate change.  This sits alongside our Responsible Investment Strategy.

We are signatories to the UK Stewardship Code. Every year we publish our submission which seeks to retain that signatory status. This is a comprehensive review of how we invest responsibly, how we engage and how we know our approach is making a difference.
