We’re looking to recruit to our Pensions Committee. The EAPF is looking for 2 individuals who can represent deferred and pensioner members.
You don’t need any relevant experience, but you do need to have an interest in making sure our pension scheme works well and be able to represent the views of deferred and pensioner members.
The role is open to anyone who is currently a deferred or pensioner member of the fund.
It’s an exciting and unique opportunity to learn about pensions, investments and how a pension fund is run.
It will take up around 10 days a year, and you’ll have to attend at least 4 meetings every year and undertake some training, which we’d help you with.
Most of the meetings are hybrid (in person and online), but we’d encourage you to attend at least 1 meeting a year in person to meet other members on the Committee. The meetings are usually held in London.
For the skills and experience we’re looking for, see our Pensions Committee recruitment leaflet at www.eapf.org.uk/trustee/trustee-appointments. Alternatively, if you’re not able to access or download these documents online you can receive a copy by emailing EAPF@environment-agency.gov.uk or by writing to the Head of Governance and Risk, Environment Agency Pension Fund, Environment Agency, Horizon House, Deanery Road, Bristol, BS1 5AH.
This position receives a nominal amount in recognition of your time and service. In addition, travel and subsistence costs will be reimbursed, individuals will be expected to follow the T&S rules set by the Environment Agency for employees.
The application process is in 3 stages. Stage 1 requires completing our application form and telling us in 200 words why you’d be a good member representative. You can download the form at www.eapf.org.uk/trustee/trustee-appointments.
Once you’ve completed your application, you should email it to EAPF@environment-agency.gov.uk
The closing date for applications is Thursday 15 May 2025 at 12.00 noon.
Suitable candidates will be invited to Stage 2 of the process where we’ll ask for more details about what you can bring to the role. The highest scoring applicants across the deferred and pensioner member community will be invited to Stage 3 which is an interview.
Interviews will be held the week beginning 14 July 2025 (virtual or in person in Bristol).
We look forward to hearing from you!
