Planned maintenance: Please note EAPF Online will be unavailable between 09:00 on 30 October until 17:00 on 31 October 2019 for essential maintenance. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

As you'll be aware, Capita who administer your EAPF pension experienced a cyber-attack earlier this year. We've now written to affected members outlining the data items that Capita have confirmed as likely to have been exfiltrated during the attack and informed you of the free membership that Capita have arranged to Experian’s identify monitoring service, known as ‘Identity Plus’.

We've comprehensively updated our Cyber Incident Hub on our website, which includes the Q&A document, registration guidance to Experian and various other information. Moving forward, we ask members impacted by the attack to review the hub in the first instance, as we'll continue to update the Q&A document as the situation evolves.

Experian Membership

If you’ve not done so already, we recommend you register your free membership before the expiry date (6 October 2023, or 31 August if you have a pension in payment and were first notified in early June). Capita have advised this to be the most appropriate way for members to protect themselves against any fraudulent activity. To register, you will need to use the unique activation code provided within the initial notification letter and follow the guidance. For a copy of this letter, please log into your EAPF Online account and navigate to the ‘My Mailbox’ option. You can also refer to the Experian registration video held on the Cyber Incident Hub for more support.

After listening to your concerns, the initial 12 month membership to the Experian Identity Plus service has now been extended to 24 months. If you’ve already activated your Experian membership, no further action is required. The extended membership will take effect automatically, although it may take up to 90 days to show on your account. This won’t impact the use of the service and there will be no interruption whilst the update is made.

If you’ve not registered to the Experian Identity Plus service, you must do so by the 6 October 2023 for your free 24 month membership to count (or 31 August if you have a pension in payment and were first notified in early June).
