The EAPF are delighted to have won 2 awards at the recent ‘Pensions for Purpose’ awards.
Up against some strong competition, we’ve won the Paris Aligned Award for Best Climate Governance and Strategy Statement, and also the Impact Investing Adopter Award too. Both awards are well deserved and show that our fund is ‘walking the talk’ when it comes to our careful consideration of our impact in a changing climate.
For the Paris aligned award, the judges commented that the EAPF is "Setting the standard on how improvements year on year can progress on this key issue". They added "their member survey results were shared and there was an up front, clear summary of the policy using an excellent 'policy in a nutshell’ framework. There was also a good explanation of net zero, Paris alignment and the role of fossil fuels, and a clear summary of targets".
For the Impact Investing Adopter Award, the judges said the EAPF was "selected as the winner because of the integration across their work, their pragmatic approach and compelling impact case studies – particularly in emerging markets".
EAPF’s Climate Investment Analyst Becky LeAnstey said "I feel incredibly privileged and proud to be in a position where I get to use my scientific background and apply it to what we do at EAPF. Being recognised by peers and the Impact Investing Institute for the work we have done on climate change and impact investing is something we don’t take for granted and is a great honour. What we do is a team effort, so the achievement could not have been made without our fantastic committee, advisors and engaged members. We hope the financial success we achieve shows others that you can invest for good and make a healthy return at the same time."
