We’re looking to recruit someone who’ll join our Pensions Committee as one of the member representatives.

You don’t need any relevant experience, but you do need to have an interest in making sure our pension scheme works well and be able to represent the views of members.

The role is open to anyone of any age who is currently paying into the pension fund every month (please note that this particular role is not available to pensioners or deferred members). We particularly welcome applications from members from a diverse background and/or younger members, as these members are not currently well represented on the Pensions Committee.

It’s an exciting and unique opportunity to learn about pensions, investments and how a pension fund is run. For the skills and experience we’re looking for, see our Pensions Committee recruitment leaflet on our Trustee Appointments page.

This role will take up around 10 days a year, so we’d encourage you to have a chat with your line manager about this before applying.

You’ll have to attend at least 4 meetings every year and undertake some training, which we’d help you with.

Most of the meetings are hybrid meetings but we’d encourage you to attend at least one meeting a year in person to meet other members on the Committee. The meetings are usually held in Bristol or London.

This is a great opportunity to not only support your personal development or career aspirations but also develop your financial understanding and influencing skills amongst others.

The position is voluntary and all of your expenses would be met by the Pension Fund.

So if you’re interested, get in contact with us. Tell us about yourself and why you’d be a good member representative by filling in our application form which you can download from our Trustee Appointments page.

The closing date for applications is Thursday 24 November 2022 at 12.00 noon.

Interviews will be held on Tuesday 13 December 2022 (virtual or in person in Bristol).

We look forward to hearing from you!
