The EAPF is a fund of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS). With effect from 1 April 2026, the Government has introduced changes to the LGPS to make the Scheme fairer for all members. Some of the improvements will apply retrospectively.

From 1 April 2026, the Environment Agency Pension Fund (EAPF) will join a new investment pool: LPPI (formerly known as Local Pensions Partnership Investments).
